Tuesday Cabinet Tweeking

Finally the DAY has come, I have all my cabinets installed. Except One. It will be in the photos but it is a victim of Delivery. It was smashed during its journey to my Abode " long story". LJ and Tommie faced with the remaining cabinets to be installed and they Conquered all of them YAY. They "my Carpenters" worked their Tushies off today. Rolfie came and helped too. He helped with the Bathroom Vanity installation. Which was a challenge - uneven floor .. All 3 of them installed that one. She is a Heavy Vanity. Beautiful too.
Tommie was the King of My Day - He was the named the TWEEKER Today. He spent at times over an hour trying to adjust the cabinet doors to perfection. I kept watching his facial expressions, he at times was in Pain :(.
He is the Master though, if it was not level, he would not be able to leave it alone. Thank Gods a Person who Cares about his Workmanship.

I attempted to " FAUX " paint the Bathroom yesterday. I spent many hours doing so. The color however dried to be a very dull ucky ode stale hospital green ... NOT good. I found myself at the local hardware store * at 6:00 pm* which is ancient inside. They did have paint though. I was not impressed at all with the color that I created. So I got yet another color to use with Glaze and a bit of white and Orange. I purchased a Martin Senour color that was a bright Caribbean blue... sorry too lazy to go to the basement to get the exact color. I found this web blog by this man on how to tone down painted interiors. DUH I smacked my head while reading his words. He was spot on. I am going to add his Link for those who run into Paint issues. I should have gone back to my own education with cosmetics and hair color ~ because he states exactly what I already knew. I just did not even think that it would work with latex paint.

I thought how can I dull down this bright Caribbean blue and when I read his article it made total sense. ADD Orange. And I am a orange paint freak, I have 2 different oranges in gallons right now. I did just that and it came out Marvelous. I had to play with it for a few but the color came out perfect. Mind you I have many tools. I have real sea sponges on a roller ( two sponges separated on one roller) and I have the greatest paint brush in the world. (( A huge Box of Clean White Rags)) and tons of clear glaze. The paint brush is a Must Have, I got it at Lowes and its my fave brush so far. Its only about 4 inches long. It cost maybe 5.00. The greatest thing of this Miracle brush is it has a very long flexible brush and its handle is short and stubby and RUBBER ...It Bends. Lots of Wrist Action with this Brush. It bends and flex's - and I love IT.

I have a few photos to add of the Ugly Hospital Green Mintish AGGG Gag and then the much brighter turquoise of last night - I had to go over it again this morning to even it up a bit. It is not finished yet. I Had to however get the Base down on the wall ....so the Vanity could be installed. Its a Vanity that is free floating. It had to be screwed into the back wall ..then it has " fake" legs attached in the front. So it appears to be more so like a dresser.

The Gag Colors which do not get me wrong are quite nice. I did paint a Board first and thought the colors would be SWELL ...Hah. The colors were Bayou and Ophite by Pratt & Lambert. NO go with the Turquoise tile within my shower. Paint Saga ~ I took my tired self to the basement and found the color by Martin Senour its called " Catalina Island". I mixed it with Pratt & Lambert " Faded Rose" tons of clear glaze and water .... I have no idea at this moment how I came to the finish color. It was more so like a fury of no thought and I just did it. It was very late last night ...after a very long day.
That is when you are the most creative I think...when thought is eliminated. " Just do it" :
The bathroom walls are not yet finished .. I have a huge amount of my personal Mix in a sealed container - I am not worried .. I did use my brain, just left off the fear quotient. Fear of Color omg run run ... I love Color. I am just afraid of the WRONG color. My Father has always said since I was a kid when he does not want to do something - he says I rather a paint a ceiling. ME too.

I have BEEN there.....I LOVE to paint but sometimes that tweaking of colors is crazy. Faux finishing is a good way to cover up boo-boo's. Thanks for the link on saving color! Are you gonna put up some pictures or wait for the project is finished completely? :)
