The Soft Muted Colors 

Four Colors, Three are Newly introduced. I added Kentucky Mint to show the comparison. Kentucky Mint is a soft color, yet compared to the other four,  it isn't.

In the drying stages:
Pittsburgh Gray, Johnston Daffodil, Omaha Ochre, Cottonwood Sienna, Texas Prairie, Kentucky Mint, Montana Sky, Maine Harbor Blue

Dry

1. Kentucky Mint ~ New to the Line - Soft Jade Green 

2. Texas Prairie ~ New to the Line - So Different, will explain. It has shown me it changes " Cats Eye"

3. Cottonwood Sienna ~ one of the original colors -Palomino Horse

4. Omaha Ochre ~ one of the original colors - slight golden hue, Wheat 

5. Johnston Daffodil ~ New to the line `Palest Chalk Yellow'

Texas Prairie is an odd color. It reminds me of Cats Eye Green. Meow Likes. 

Compare the Two Greens: (L) Kentucky Mint and (R) Texas Prairie 

Not having a Green at the time I created my own, with Acrylics " tinting" white Gesso -creating the base. 

Will make a new post, there is enough here to view and think about. :) 

 

Continued Colors

Colors of CeCe Caldwell Paints~ Wet and Dry 

Not your usual paint here. What is the determining factor of almost all paint purchases " Color" Going back to the Wet Samples, I covered Kentucky Mint and Montana Sky Blue yesterday  I wanted to add so you can see the actual Paint in Sample form, on my blog, as a comparison. 
I was sidetracked by the 100 degree temps yesterday, my brain not all here. To show you the comparisons of the two Blues: Montana Sky Blue and Maine Harbor Blue. 
These are my samples. To the left is Montana Sky Blue, to the right is Maine Harbor Blue. The lime green you see is on the outside of the Maine Harbor Blue is my artistic finger prints from playing, it dried that way. The lime green is not a component of the Maine Harbor Blue ;)  I added the quarter for all to gauge something WE all know - what it looks like. 

Going back to the Wet Samples - to Dry finish 

1. Kentucky Mint  2. Montana Sky Blue  3. Maine Harbor Blue  4. Georgia Clay  5. Kissimmee Orange 

3. Maine Harbor Blue is Classic Cobalt Blue 

If you are wanting to add dimension within a finished product, this color is an essential. It is a Primary Color for one. You can blend it, you can use it as a wash, you can mix it to add depth to another CeCe color. Or use it all by itself. 

Shown mixed:  1. is Vintage White alone. 2. Maine Harbor Blue  3. Maine Harbor Blue with a streak of Vintage White  4. Maine Harbor Blue with a streak of Young Kansas Wheat 

Maine Harbor Blue ~~Dry 

4. Georgia Clay 

Looks very deep orange terracotta wet. It is not the same once dry. It is of the orange family. It has a neutral base. It does not scream yellow or gold, nor rose or pink. Thinking of Terracotta, the clay pots we have all seen in stores. This is not the same color. It has a hue of copper, is a good way of explaining it. Muted Copper. The pottery shown as you can see this does not view as Clay Pot Orange but softer, more muted.

Georgia Clay ~~ Dry

As you see at the top, there are TWO Oranges - 4. Georgia Clay and 5. Kissimmee Orange ~ Compare

To the left is Kissimmee Orange, to the Right is Georgia Clay. Next to each other Dry. 
Two totally different Oranges. One Bright, One Muted :) 

Kissimmee Orange is a love fest for me. Orange is my favorite color. It reminds me of true Orange Sherbet. You can see how easy it is to soften with a tad, a tiny tad of Vintage White, it becomes a Orange Cream 

Moving on to more colors. I hope this helps others who are contemplating buying CeCe Paints. The Samples I have purchased, received well worth it. The Paint itself, a little goes a long way. Who could complain about that?  Not me. Through Blogging these colors it is helping with my own issue of creating a color palette for my Abode. I have been the Paint Chip, Paint Collector for too long. Finally I feel I found my Paint :)  A Paint that is so Risk Free - Imagine this, not your imagination it's here.

It's Summertime

It's Hot today. Whew. Summertime is here.
So are my new colors ~ CeCe Caldwell Chalk Clay Paint Colors

I ordered more samples, they arrived yesterday. The Color Choices are So Amazing!

The colors shown here are WET in the drying stage ~~~~
Wanting you to see the change, there is a change, it's not dramatic but it is visible.

Number 1 shown,  A new color, it is named Kentucky Mint

To describe it, not sure if I would classify it in the " Mint" category.
Next to chocolate brown, we think of mint chip Ice Cream, I do not find this
a Mint in that way, if that makes sense. It is a mellow soft neutral green, no blue within it, nor yellow. A muted gingham green comes to mind. It's very fresh, would look like Spring with white. Or streaked with Maine Harbor Blue, Montana Sky Blue - Yum. Have not bought it yet, would look adorable with Traverse City Cherry Red. The colors to compliment each other, not to create " Christmas" -

Number 2 shown, is Montana Sky Blue
This is a very pretty POP of blue, it reminds me of my Great Grandmothers embroidery, her hand made Hungarian crafting, table clothes, tapestries. I see it as " Hungarian Blue"  the little blue flowers with the yellow centers.

 

Montana Sky Blue ~~ Dry ~

The lighter shade of Blue threads in this piece of Hungarian Tapestry - You can see how it enhances all colors as an accent.

I love that the Blue has an Old World about it, that it can be used with every color or stand alone by itself. The Beauty of CeCe's Paints there is no Under " Tone" screaming at you, as a side affect, yes affect not effect. They are all clear color, meant to be as they say they are.  If you have ever had to choose a White, you know what I mean. Where it be in paint, a turtleneck, or a drapery, nothing worse than getting it home to say, It's not white! It's yellow, its off white, it looks pink, it looks green ... same with blacks, there are green, brown, blue toned blacks etc.. no fear here !! Thank you CeCe. Posting more tomorrow - will have all the  colors displayed  :) including my new ones just received.

Playing with the Maine Harbor Blue, Kissimmee Orange and Vintage White 

If you mix Kissimmee Orange with a dab of Maine Harbor Blue with a dab of VW - 

Your on your way to Purple 

I too was able to make a Chocolate Brown as you can see at the bottom - and I have no brown.

The Yellow hue you see is Omaha Ochre and Cottonwood Sienna

The orange is Kissimee :) 

I do have " New Orleans Purple" by CeCe Caldwell too. It is dry brushed ever so slightly. 

The Purple is amazing, it mixed with a dab of Maine Harbor Blue makes a Yummy Blackberry Smokey Blues Berry. The board above is just for fun, wanting to show you how diverse this paint truly is. You can manipulate it with your fingers - Fingerpaint with it.
